We look to the future with confidence, and we hope that your journey within Wayfare will bring professional satisfaction and growth throughout the coming years and we hope you will have memorable moments as part of Wayfare team.

YOUR, FIRST WEEKS

Surely your first weeks at Wayfare will be busy and
full of new things. But, don’t worry, we’ll be by your side every step of the way.

OUR ADVICE:

We will make sure your first days will go as smooth as possible.
Here are a few tips for you to start to know the office and your team.

Hope it will be useful!

Be a sponge

Absorb everything on your first week: get to know the office, the team, the company culture, mission and vision or the way of working.

BE CURIOUS!

Find meaningful ways to contribute to the team

Don’t be afraid to contribute and add value. Volunteer your help, it shows initiative and pro-activity.

OFFER YOUR HELP!

Be social

Even if our team is very friendly and happy to welcome new team members, searching for a person with similar interests like you, might be a good idea. Developing a trusted relationship will make you feel more comfortable as you’re getting to know this new workplace.

SEEK OUT A FRIEND!

Ask

As you learn about new processes, projects, and people, don’t be afraid to ask questions. You need to get up to speed because people will expect this from the new person on the team.

DON’T BE SHY!

Be honest - Say "I don't know yet, but I can learn!"

True for your career and every part of your daily life. Be honest. Do not pretend to know something you simply do not know. Say simply this: “I do not know.” Your team will provide you all the help to change that fact.

NAME THE UNKNOWN!

HOW DO WE WORK?

Everything you need to know about work schedule and taking time off from work

One of the benefits when working at Wayfare is the

FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE

Wayfare offices are opened every working day from 08 am to 08 pm. We expect every employee to come at the office between 08 am - 9.30 am, thus the starting time is flexible for each and every one of us.

If something happens and you can't make it on time at the office, please inform your manager and he will guide you through this special situation.

WORK TIME

8 hours/day, 40 hours/working week for full-time employees;
4 or 6 hours/day, 20 or 30 hours/working week for part-time employees;

LUNCH BREAK

Taking your lunch break allows your mind to rest, recharge and refocus, while keeping your metabolism active. Take your 30 minutes up to 1 hour of lunch break, between 11 am – 2 pm and re-energize your body.
But, be aware this time won’t count as worked time.

RELAX BREAK

For your body health and mind, relax time is recommended. It won’t count as worked time, but it will definitely make your day easier.

Our general rule of thumb is "if you need time off - take time off."

Work-life balance is very important for us and we simply know that vacations make us happier, unwind us and fuel us with energy.
Just make sure you are communicating timely with your manager when you plan to be out.

Special work schedule for students

ARE YOU STILL STUDYING?

We believe that education is a fundamental necessity of life and we encourage our colleagues to attend faculty courses, laboratories and exams. In order to support you in achieving great results, we offer you a special and more flexible work schedule and Part-time employment (4 hours/day or 6 hours/day).

All you need to do is discuss your tailored work schedule to meet specific school demands with your manager and add in Wayman your Daily presence schedule.

Taking into consideration the needs of the projects you are on, your manager will approve without or with small adjustments to your request.

If you want to change your working norm (from part-time to full time or the other way around) you need to give us a written request (by hand or computer) at least a week in advance. All changes can only be made starting with he 1st of the month.

If you need one to two absence hours during working hours create Hours out Request in Wayman, preferably with at least one day in advance.

Hours out request will be approved/rejected by the Operational
Manager taking into consideration the consequences the request
might have on the project.

*These free hours will not count as working time, thus will have to be recovered until the end of the month.

CLOCKING TIME and LOGGING WORK TIME

The access code that you received on your first day will also automatically start your clock in Wayman (if it wasn't already started) and log your presence at the office for that day. If you can't remember your access code, you can easily find it in Wayman -> My profile -> Inventory objects (Others) -> Access.

In Wayman, you can see all your in and out - registered logs. If one of them is missing, let your manager know so he can import it. It is important that this information is complete for every single working day of the month.

You must log your worked time every day before you leave the office or the next day in the morning on:

* The client-side, their internal work management tool;

* Our side, in Wayman. Daily, log your hours using the Time Registration button on the first page in Wayman.

When logging your hours, the next pieces of information are important and mandatory:

- the project and the task for which you log your hours
- just for some projects: the budget
- date
- worked ( worked hours )
- description

For any questions related to your logged hours or project, please contact your PM.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT PROCESS

Managing performance is all about coaching, guiding, appraising, motivating and rewarding people. It’s a continuous and flexible process of creating a work environment in which people are enabled and supported to achieve their full potential, to the benefit of themselves and of the company.

Our performance management system is a continuous process in which managers find the right way to get the best from the people they manage.

It’s about setting directions, making agreements, monitor, measure performance and helping each teammate to understand and recognize their contribution to the company’s performance.

It enhances “learning from experience”, treating every task as a learning opportunity (as long as the people involved reflect on what they did and how they did it and draw conclusions on how to carry out a similar task in the future).

In Wayfare, the performance and development reviews take place as follows:

* twice a year for the team members who are at a junior level (Mid-year and End of the year)
* once a year for the team members who are at a mid-level and a higher level (End of the year)

THE MENTORING PROGRAM FOR OUR JUNIOR DEVELOPERS

As a junior OE developer within Wayfare, in your first 3 months, you will receive guidance every step of the way, in order to become in no time more experienced, productive, confident and independent.

Having these in mind, we created a few internal projects like IdeaPlatform and Wayspace, which give us the opportunity to simulate the ways in which a commercial project works, with a focus on working methodologies, deadlines, communication and team responsibility.

Together with the Scum Master, PM and Product Owner you will have meetings like: Daily, Planning, Demo, Retrospective and you will receive constant support from your dedicated Mentor.

We encourage you to follow one golden rule in this period: offer and ask constant feedback about your work and your performance or talk openly about your happy meter within the team.

The Admission Test will be your first challenge with the main objective to further develop your technical skills, as well as your soft skills while having in mind that your work will contribute to helping the HR department in their effort to recruit and select new team members.

Also, in these 3 months, you will participate in numerous trainings and workshops:  Web, Agile/Scrum, GIT&GitFlow, Coding standards, UML diagrams, Index usage, Unit Testing, Kendo UI, etc.  which will further develop your technical knowledge.

OFFICE ETIQUETTE

Our workspace rules

BE MINDFUL OF THE NOISE YOU MAKE

Personal phones blasting out into the office can naturally be disrupting and off-putting the team, so try to put your phone on silent. Take a personal call in an area that is more private. Unless everyone is in on the joke, keep loud conversation to a minimum.

BE TIDY AND CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF

Be considerate of others and clean up after yourself in the kitchen or lunch area. Keep your desk organized and tidy up each day before leaving work. Don’t forget to wash the coffee mug and water glass at the end of the day and safely put them in the cupboards. If, after you’ve made your coffee, the coffee machine is low on water or coffee, please restock. If it needs to be emptied, do so. All these as a courtesy to your team-members.
The restroom is used by everyone, please keep it clean.

LEAVING LATE?

If you’re the last one in the whole office building, activate the alarm system and lock up. We don’t want to give burglars any free opportunities for breaking in.

BE TOLERANT

The open-office environment brings together myriad personalities, with different styles. Be tolerant of these differences and find ways to adapt. Not everyone is going to agree with you one hundred percent every time so have an open mind, listen with the intent to learn and focus on the positive aspects of your job.

BE CONSIDERATE OF THE ENVIRONMENT

When you are the last person leaving the office, switch off the computer, the AC and the lights. We collect selectively the waste at Wayfare. Try to recycle most of the plastic and paper you use by disposing them in the proper trash bin.

TIPS FOR A HAPPY JOURNEY

#WayfarePeople

1. Open up

Open up – Wayfare’s culture promotes open communication and transparency. This is very much what we like because we honestly believe that it creates better results. We have an open-door policy, we encourage you to always freely discuss for better clarity with your manager your questions, concerns or issues as soon as they arise.

2. Understand your purpose

Understand your purpose – Sure, we all know our job title, but do you really understand the role and the purpose of it within our company’s mission and vision? If not, make sure to ask! Knowing your meaning in the bigger picture can make a huge impact on both your mood and your productivity.

3. Commit yourself and stay focused

Commit yourself & Stay focused – The right mindset will give you the motivation you need to bring your A-Game. Have the drive to commit yourself to your work. Be pro-active when
help is needed, share the responsibility with your team, focus on what it’s important and take initiative whenever you have the opportunity.

4. Ask & Offer regular feedback

Ask & Offer feedback – individuals need to know how they are getting on. Feedback should be based on factual evidence. It refers to results, events, critical incidents and significant behaviors that have affected performance in specific ways. The feedback should be presented in a manner that enables individuals to recognize and accept it – it should be a description of what has happened, not a judgment.

5. Return messages promptly

Return messages promptly –To win friends at work, start with good office etiquette. There’s nothing more frustrating for busy team members than to have their emails and Skype messages ignored. Your silence doesn’t just make their jobs harder, it also conveys an unpleasant message: you’re unimportant to me. If you don’t have time at that moment, just let them know that you saw their email/message and that you will answer them back as soon as possible.

6. Have a tidy desk

Have a tidy desk – The old saying ‘messy work space, messy mind’ seems very true! There is nothing better than starting the work week with a tidy work environment. This has been proven to make you more relaxed and in control of your workload.

7. Be positive & Smile more

Be positive & Smile more – What better way to be happy at work than being positive and smiling. Smiling is addictive! Try smiling a few times a day to team members. You’ll be amazed by how many will just instantly smile back. Avoid negativity and focus on the wins: take a moment every day to think about how you have impacted our company positively that day.

OUR EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Take advantage of them!

CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT

As we believe that development benefits both the company but also the employee’s personal self, we implemented in the early days of Wayfare the “50 – 50 %” rule:

The time needed to be dedicated when participating in a training/conference/workshop will be split in half between the working time and personal time.

Also, after attending to external events, each team member must present back to the team key learnings (by putting them down in an article or by making a presentation). By sharing knowledge, each of us learns new things.

BOOKSTER

We encourage reading and we know that many of you enjoy this activity. As part of our benefits, we provide you access to the online library, Bookster. All you have to do is contact one of our Bookster Ambassadors and order your favorite book. Here are the Bookster ambassadors: Oana Trasca, Ovidiu Filip, Ela Hatagan, Paula Brustur, Daniela Popa, Virgil Pal, Paula Brustur, Stancuta Porumb, Ioana Fugaciu, Emilia Ratiu. Scroll down the list of books available in the library until you find the one you want and add it to the wish list. It’s as simple as that!

And remember: Read & Roll!

SOCIAL WELL BEING

Whether it’s sitting in our garden and enjoying the coffee together, playing ping-pong in the game room, sharing acts of kindness and giving back to the community, celebrating the day that changed your parents’ life forever (aka your birthday) or going to after-hours events with our Wayfarers, we love to have fun and it pervades every aspect of #WayfarePeople life.

EMPLOYEE PROFIT SHARING PROGRAM

Wayfare stands for the journey we all make together, a journey we could have never started without all your support and hard work.

Starting with January 2017 we implemented the Employee Profit Sharing Program within Wayfare and took this opportunity to show our deep respect and appreciation for all of you and for what you do, every day, for Wayfare.

EPSP program redirects a part of Wayfare’s profit at the end of each year to all employees.

The amount each of you will receive will be calculated based on:

– – The level of contribution to the success of the company;

– – The loyalty shown towards our company by the number of days worked in Wayfare.

All team members with at least 1 year of employment and still working at Wayfare on the first of January of the current year, will be eligible for the EPSP program for the previous year.
The EPSP amount will be added to your January salary, meaning that all salary and tax contributions will be paid for it.

How can you contribute more to the success of our company?

Going that extra mile to bring the collaboration and partnership with our customers to the next level is how you can help. The performance of Wayfare is highly impacted by each of us. Taking initiative and responsibility, sharing a creative thought, helping a colleague to achieve his or her best, sharing your specific experience and knowledge or just giving one extra smile to a visitor, all these smaller and bigger things contribute to our common success.

Employee Referral Bonus Program

We are always looking for people that can bring value to the team, people that share our values.

Our teammates’ referrals mean a lot to us in the recruitment process, that is why we came up with this idea to show our appreciation for each person that can bring someone great into our team.

The referral bonus will be granted 50% when the employee is hired and 50% after the probationary period.

Meal Tickets

Our community grows stronger when we are together and we want to show our appreciation to the people who make that possible by working from the office.

Each month on the 10th your Edenred card will be topped -up with the amount corresponding to the previous month.

The rule for the meal tickets:

  • if you work from the office at least 3 days of the week you will receive meal tickets for the whole week
  • for less than 3 days at the office you will receive meal tickets corresponding to the number of days (0/1/2).

The meal tickets have a value of 30 RON. Please use your access code when arriving to the office in the morning, it will also mark your presence in the office.

*For leave days you will not receive any meal tickets.

We take every opportunity to show you our appreciation of having you
as part of our team. Our benefits are continually evolving, and we welcome your input on how we can make this an even better place for you to work and thrive.

OFF-BOARDING

Parting our ways?

Parting our ways?

Have you decided that we are not a good cultural or professional fit?

Don’t worry,

we will guide you every step along the way through the exit procedure:

Together with your manager, we will decide which is the soonest date we can end the employment contract, taking into consideration the impact on the project, your workload and the period needed for knowledge transfer, while respecting the Labor code and legislation in force at that moment.

Normally, our notice period is one calendar month. During the notice period, your remaining days of annual leave must be taken.

All paperwork will be drawn in close cooperation with the HR and Administrative team after the leaving date is confirmed.

We will ask you to complete an exit questionnaire and have an open discussion about it.
Your opinion is very important to us, we are continuously trying to improve our work environment
for current and future team members.

On your last day, our Sys Admin will collect from you all the given equipment (laptop, headsets, equipment for home office, etc.).

We are very grateful to have so many beautiful people in our team.

Your time at Wayfare will be one of adventure, learning, hard work and excitement.

THANK YOU
